Food for thought – There is no denying it, changes in the way that we eat and what we eat is imminent and its such a great thing to see it flourish in so many different ways. Food nourishes and keeps us alive, it lets us bond with friends, its a ritual with family, and during our moments of impending doom, food makes it all better until our bowl is empty (or ice cream tub, you say potato and I say potato). So knowing that food is so personal to all of us, its great to see how it can also be the extra ingredient that creates a change that is so profound.
Enter Streat. A new place for you to eat located in Fed Square. When you do eat at Streat you become a part of social change and you are also directly feeding motivation and confidence to the ones that deserve it. Streat is a new Social Enterprise that operates mobile cafe (food carts) and train disadvantaged youths to cook and manage these carts for long term career opportunities.
Here are a few photos I took for the Streat team, we’ve just finished a project together that will be posted soon! And next time you’re in the CBD and you feel like something healthy and all heart, head to Streat and stop homelessness the delicious way.
